My Dad’s ‘Boy’ Advice to His 13 Year Old Daughter

imagesAccording to an old diary I found, on the 10th of February in 2002, a 13 year old boy walked up to my door and asked my dad if he could bring me out.

My dad, being the overprotective man he was, and still is, said no!

This is what my dad said to me:

  1. Boys won’t go out with you because they like you. They will go out with you to see what they can get out of you.
  2. You’re better than that (to go out with him when I was so young) and I should know I’m better than that.
  3. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you, don’t ruin it with him when you’re young.
  4. You don’t have to do anything that anyone else is doing. Be yourself and you’ll have no problem.

On the 14th of April 2013, the same boy, now a 24 year old man, text me and made it clear that he’s still interested.

Excited!
